DNC "Green" Plan Unveiled; Climate Change Takes Another Hit

Drunkablog has an extensive roundup with all the necessary links--to the carbon footprint calculator, carbon advisor, and, of course, "tips."

New evidence doesn't support global warming or climate change fearmongering--Gateway Pundit has latest:
Satellite measurements available since 1979 show no warming in the southern hemisphere and the trend in the northern hemisphere appears to have waned since 2001.
Plus, Green Bay has record snowfall, there's so much snow in Quebec it has spurred "snow rage"--complete with guns and fists, and NOAA says that this was the coolest winter for the US and the world since 2001.

Then there's the snowpack--Colorado is doing quite well, as is the entire West, with almost all areas above 90% (green, blues, and purple--click to enlarge):

Colorado Caucus Confusion As Democrats Select Republicans, Greens As Delegates

Confusion? Or campaign fever? Dude:
Denver Democrats have a problem: 172 of the delegates and alternates they elected at Super Tuesday caucuses appear to be ineligible.

Some showed up at the wrong precinct. Most of them weren't even registered Democrats.

"A couple people were Republicans. A couple people were Green Party," said Jennifer Coken, who chairs the Democratic Party of Denver. "It's been kind of nerve-racking for us."

Republicans getting elected as Democratic delegates is just part of the confusion that accompanied an overwhelming turnout at precincts throughout Colorado.
. . .
In Denver, the number of voters who showed up at Democratic caucuses jumped from 2,628 in 2004 to 26,096 on Super Tuesday. They chose 3,032 delegates and 3,032 alternates to attend their county convention on March. 8, Jacobson said.

But according to Denver Election Commission records, 119 of the delegates and alternates are not registered Democrats, she said, and 53 "caucused in a location other than their precinct."

All 172 will be challenged, but they get an opportunity to prove the city records wrong at a Monday night meeting at Denver party headquarters. To qualify, "they have to bring in a certified copy of their voter registration," Jacobson said.

Because Denver concentrated its efforts on ineligible delegates, Jacobson expects it will be weeks before the local party can check the eligibility of all the others who signed affidavits and voted in the caucuses.

"There were a lot," she said, "maybe close to a thousand."
So, who's to blame? Enthusiastic but apparently uninitiated "unaffiliateds":
"Most of these people were unaffiliated voters, and some of them didn't know that," said Jennifer Jacobson, director of operations for Denver Democrats. "They said they voted for Democrats their whole lives. They didn't know they hadn't affiliated with a party."
That's ok. Ineligible voters have voted for Democrats for years. Some even voted from the great beyond.

Democrats are inclusive, after all.

Peace Rally In Denver; Moonbats At The World Series

This past Saturday I joined Drunkablog at the state capitol (excellent pictures at the link--including more Mercedes owners for peace) to soak in more liberal moonbattery and here are some highlights of the anti-war shindig (and hey, they managed to attract more than a couple dozen this time!):

Some video captured by the moonbats:

Photos from the rally (scroll for moonbat pics from World Series Game 3 at Coors Field):

Ron Paul's supporters seem to be everywhere these days

Flags of fury

Continuing the non-viable candidate theme, there was a smattering of Kucinich supporters as well

Democrats were under attack

Some moonbat anti-war profiteering

I'm sure every rally participant walked or biked to the event

That's so 2002!

Ward Churchill makes a literary appearance

Follow the incoherence, Democrats!

I'm sure they'd love us back . . . just like 9/11!

Everyone's a fascist according to the totalitarian moonbats

Progressivism isn't healthy, or hygienic

Some brave souls who wouldn't let the moonbats go unanswered

Denver was the center of the baseball universe this weekend, and the moonbats are like moths to the flame wherever cameras are found

Boston's sweep was an inside job!

The Paulians were at Coors Field for all the postseason games

"Guru" Laurie David In Denver; Talks Al Gore, Sen. Inhofe

Activist, producer of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, and global warming nannyist Laurie David will speak in Denver tonight to a sold out(?) crowd:
2 What was it like to work with Al Gore?

By the time I was done working with him, I was begging him to adopt me. He's like a father figure to me, one of my heroes. He's so charming and lovely and smart and funny. He makes fun of himself; he's got a great sense of humor. He's dry and he laughs at other people's jokes. [Al Gore is charming and lovely and smart and funny? Must have missed that in the 2000 election--ed.]

3 If you could have dinner with Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), who called global warming the "greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people," what would you say to him?

There's something in my heart that makes me believe if I could get 10 minutes with these guys, I could change their mind. I would love to have dinner with Inhofe. We're at the point where we have to do something big to stop global warming. I would want him to watch the movie. I would pop the popcorn. I would pick up the check (for dinner).

4 So how do you react to the Bush administration's stance on global warming?

It's terrifying. I've spent a lot of time saying to people that I believe the changes are going to come when these guys are still in office. I don't personally believe we have two years to waste before we start solving this. I'm not focused on '08. I'm focused on right now. Here's a perfect analogy: if you had a choice between being in a 5 mile-per-hour car accident or a 50 mile-per-hour car accident, what would you choose? I would choose everything we have to do avoid the larger collision ahead.

5 What changes have you made in your own life?

I don't believe everyone has to do everything. I don't do everything. It's about everyone doing something. I have changed as many lightbulbs as I could to (higher efficiency) bulbs. I started a new idling rule at the school carpool lane (cars dropping and picking up kids can't idle their engines more than 30 seconds). I bring a garment bag to the dry cleaners (instead of having the dry cleaners wrap her clothes in petroleum-based plastic). I drive a hybrid. [nothing much really, but it makes me feel good inside; you, however, are asked to do more--ed.]

Celebrate Earth Day!

If you're of the red variety--today is Lenin's birthday. If you happen to be of the green persuasion (or a watermelon, green on outside, red on the inside!) today is Earth's day.

Relapsed Catholic says Earth Day is crap.

Sen. Inhofe challenges Hollywood to take the "Gore Pledge".

Sheryl Crow implores us to be sparing with our TP--1 square only!

Cox & Forkum give us the "Farce of Nature".

Earth Day, a "Festivus" for the smug among us!
